What is an ethical gift
Ethical gift is a gift you purchase for some one that really needs it and it will help them and change there life . That is what an ethical gift is to me .
If I had a $100
I am going to purchase my gifts from world vision because they have the largest selection of gift options , they have 99 gift options and plan Canada has 42 gift options , the salvation army has 10 gift options , and Oxfam has 40 gift options. Any way the gifts I would purchase if I had $100`s are : educate a girl , buy five fruit trees , and purchase a soft baby blanket . I would chose to educate a girl for $60 because in most place`s girls have to stay home and do things around the house well the boys are at school I would purchase this gift because I want a girl to be able to go to school just like me . The purpose of this gift is for a girl to fulfill their dreams by being able to go to school . I also would chose to purchase five fruit tree`s for $30 because some family`s out there in the world do not have any food or they have very little amount of food and by buying those five fruit trees it will let them be able to have plenty of fruit to eat . The purpose of those five fruit trees are they let a family or family's have food when they need it and they can also sell some of the fruit to other people for money . One last thing the fruit trees provide vitamin A and C so they are also very good for the families . The last thing I would buy that would total it up to $100`s is a soft baby blanket for a new born , the blanket is $10 . I would by this gift because it lets a new born be able to have a blanket maybe like you when you were a baby . I picked three thing`s that totaled up to $100 . I picked to purchase three things instead of one because it lets different people, and different families be able to have what they need for them , there children ,or there whole family.

The flute
Hi my name is Alicia at my school Hillsdale public school we are starting to play instrument`s I am going to play the flute and in this blog post I am going to tell you a few things about the flute . First of all if you did not know this, the flute is in the woodwinds instrument family . Secondly I numbered all the parts of the flute at the bottom in the picture and now I will tell you all the different parts of the flute with the numbers . The first part is called the embouchure hole . The second part is called the head joint . The third part is called the foot joint .The second last part is called the E-flat key . And the last but not lest part is the embouchure plate . Another thing about the flute is it plays on the left clef . The flute was invented in 1847 by Theobald Boehm from Bavaria Germany . Another thing is the flute makes a higher pitch but it also can make a mellow one . You can make a sound with the flute by blowing across a small hole at one end of the flute (the embouchure hole ). Also you assemble the flute by holding the head joint in your left hand and and the middle joint in your right hand . Then you carefully put the head joint and the middle joint together and twist them .Make shure that the embouchure hole is directly in line with the middle joints keys . Then you hold the middle joint in your left hand and the head joint and then hold the foot joint in your right hand and put them in side each other and twist them carefully . The embouchure hole and all the keys have to line up in a straight line . You sterilize the mouth piece of the flute with dish soap and water .One last thing is you maintain the flute before and after playing it by using the cleaning stick .

The Golden Rule
What is the message of the Golden Rule?
to I think the message of the golden rule is treat others the way you want to be treated .
Which expression of the Golden Rule do you like the best?
I like the Jainism one . Because it is talking about animals and people . Also it dose not just talk about people it includes animals in the world too , and we should also treat people and animals the way we want to be treated .
Why is that some times that we don't behave to the Golden Rule ?
Because people might forget about the rule because we are not reminded about it every day .
What could things be like if everyone behaved according to the Golden Rule? There could be no fighting with other people and no arguments so it would be a lot better place .

Behind My Name !!!
Behind My Name: Alicia
Before I started this assignment, I thought my name was different because I did not meet a lot of people with the same name as me also I did not hear my name get said a lot in public .
After searching on Behind the Name , I learned that my name means it is a noble name also it is used in English French and Spanish countries .Two more things are it was most popular in 1990 , one last thing is my name Alicia is a way to say Alice in Spanish and in modern Latinate .
Some other interesting things I learned are that two actresses have the same name as me and a tennis player also has the same name as me and they all have there name spelt the same as my name .
If I could give myself a new name, it would be Ashley or Britney , because I just like those names .But I like my name to ,because I am so used to it that it kinda sticks , so I do not think I would want to change my name to won of those .

Stolen Jakpot !
What i first thought when i read the story was that i couldn't believe that a man and his two children would do that to people also I thought that it is really rude, I am also glade that they caught those people and other people that were doing that . If I was in that situation I would of been very up set that I found out that I won the lottery and they said that I didn't so they could keep the money . Also I would of wanted to now whose lottery tickets they have stole . So me and other people could get there money back . I would of been upset to find out that they were doing that . Also I would of been really glade that they stopped those people from doing that and other people . Another thing I would of been happy about is if the OLG system would have found the people that had the wining lottery tickets and gave the money back to those people .
