Opinion is a flitting thing,
But truth outlasts the Sun--
If we cannot own them both--
Posses the oldest one.
What this poem means to me is opinions are one thing and the truth is the definite thing that you have to care about and it will last for ever in the the world . Example in our society : Say you broke your foot and you went to a doctor and they had their own opinion and then you went to an other doctor they said something different .You would not now who`s opinion to trust
until they looked at the x-rays together and with other doctors and came up with the right answer. So see your opinion cant all ways be trusted , the truth is what really matters in our society and to me also to other people .
